To all who are searching for a better alternative. I personally suggest two FOS (free and open source) launchers: PollyMC (not PolyMC) and PrismLauncher. Former allows one to play without Minecraft account, while latter requires one. PollyMC is a fork of PrismLauncher, so they are basically the same. Both are available on MacOS, Windows and Linux.
